Renowned German harpsichordist Andreas Staier holds a pivotal position in Europe’s classical music scene, particularly in early repertoire. With a multifaceted career on both modern and period keyboard instruments, Staier has an astonishingly vast discography spanning from Baroque to contemporary works and has earned prestigious accolades, including the Diapason d’Or, Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, and Gramophone Award.
In his long-awaited Hong Kong debut, Staier will showcase his latest solo album, Méditation, live on stage at the Grand Hall. This is a programme that “both challenges and satisfies” (International Piano). Reworked and reimagined from interrelated motifs, the programme is a thought-provoking anthology of keyboard pieces by Bach, Couperin, Fischer, Froberger, Fux, and, for the first time, Staier’s own composition titled Anklänge.
